Cherry Blossoms

Nothing says "resting after a half marathon" like more exercise. On Sunday, Andrew and I rented bikes and rode to the Tidal Basin.

The Cherry Blossoms are budding, winter is officially gone.

Back to the Future

Did you watch the Modern Family finale?  For their Dad's birthday, Claire and Mitchell try to recreate a photo from their childhood as a gift.  It doesn't go...well.  But it reminded me of photographer Irina Werning's Back to the Future project.  It's incredible how we always look like ourselves, at 4 or at 40.

Top Hat Diaries

Rebecca needed an excuse to buy a red top hat she found in London, and thus started the Top Hot Diaries project.  How lovely are these photographs?  I love her use of abandoned buildings.  Her book is available now.

Shake it off

If this doesn't make you smile, you are not human.  The dog's name is Andy.  Doesn't he looks like an Andy?

Photo Crush

I have a severe photo crush on Emillie.  Can you believe she’s just 16??  I was learning to drive and listening to Jimmy Eat World when I was 16.

Her photos are so serene, and the lighting is wonderful (I’m a sucker for a good lens flare).  Makes a girl want to live in the English countryside.

Happy Friday.

Olympus PEN Videos

I keep thinking about the Olympus PEN videos. When I was a kid, I loved to use my dad’s video camera and make stop-motion videos. I’d use animal figurines, Barbies and our cats (the cats being the most unwilling of subjects.) I think Olympus has me beat!

The Original PEN Story

(Where did his family go? Did he leave them for the man from the hot air balloon?) I love the song, Down Below by Johannes Stankowski. (via Design Mom)

The new PEN Giant video

This video was shot in Bucharest, Romania and took three weeks. Details here. Can you imagine walking around town and seeing them film giant, moving billboards?

So clever!
