This Time Last Year

This time last year…

We were in Day 2 of Snowmageddon.  We were out of work for a week.  I shoveled snow for the first time in my life.  We went to a snowball fight in Dupont Circle.  We watched probably 17 movies.  We trekked 2 miles to watch the Superbowl at our own personal, deserted bar.

I’d take a repeat.  Hear that, nature?  You seem to be hitting everyone else in the NE.  Send a little snow shutdown love our way in DC.  Starting Monday, of course.

Frosting

This time last December, Andrew and I were snowed in in New York.  My flight home for Christmas was cancelled and there were no open flights out until the 26th.  We rented a car and drove from NYC to NC, and from there I got a flight home*.  It was stressful and last minute…but totally worth it to see Elissa’s “The snow never sticks in Manhattan” statement proven wrong (if only for a couple hours).

This year, it's a little less stressful.  Chatting over coffee with my Mama while the sun shines outside...

*Even in the most stressful situations, you make me smile, Andrew.  There is no one I'd rather be stranded with than you.
