I have a
tiny obsession with English bulldogs. I blame the internet. It has led me to send multiple emails to Andrew that look a little like this:
So, imagine my utter excitement that I got to spend the weekend with this fella:
I miss him already. And I'm a cat person.
I need an intervention. Help?
oh my gosh! i'm OBSESSED with the idea of owning my own bulldog. by FAR my favorite dog and i've loved them/owned many bulldog memorabilia since forever. i'm glad someone shares the love! i'm just $5000 or so away from my dreeeam haha ;/

Awwwww...they are super cute!!!
ReplyDeleteOur neighbors just got a bulldog puppy and I'm in love. I love dogs, but cats are way easier to take care of. Not to sway you or anything. I still think you should definitely get one so I can see pictures of him or her in all your posts. :)
ReplyDeletemy boyfriend has a serious weakness for these dogs. I have to give him an intervention on a regular basis. It usually consists of telling him that we already have a respirationally challenged dog, and then I tell him that they are super expensive and that he would have to be the one to clean the dirt that gets in their wrinkles. That usually does the trick for a while...but then he sees one and is right back in love...but I don't blame him, how could you not love them?
ReplyDeletei'm a dog person and i SO miss having a dog. we lost our little guy just a couple of years ago and i still miss him terribly.
ReplyDeletebut we travel too much.
how unbelievably cute is that first fella!?
he is freaking precious! im totally a cat person, but after getting a dog, he has stolen my heart :-)
ReplyDeleteLove Bulldogs ... there is something so spunky and personality-filled about this breed {and I am a cat person too! :)}

I am in no way going to give you an intervention. If anything, if I had your e-mail that I can't find here, I would only nurture your addiction. I've been working at doggie daycare facilities for over two years and my sister-in-law has the most beautiful little bulldog in the world, I would fill up your e-mail with pictures of English Bulldogs in all their glory.
ReplyDeleteI will, however, give you a few reasons why they aren't for beginner dog owners:
1-expensive b/c all of them are born through C-section- we've bred them not to fit down the birth canal b/c of their big heads
2-can be really unhealthy animals because of the way their bred and how flat their faces are
3-you have to wipe clean those facial wrinkles
4-you may or may not have to wipe their bums after they poo because it can get stuck under their stumpy tails
5-depending on their personality they can chose to be generally asses (bulldog personality) on whim
and since i don't have your e-mail i'll respond to your comment on my blog: things in australia are expensive and they charge you for everything. everything. some places charge for ketchup aka tomato sauce.
english bulldogs are soo cute!! that is so cool that youre from cocoa beach! i stayed at the south beach inn... its right on the bch i love it! :) do you still live there?

Awwww what a handsome man! I love English Bull dogs and Boston Terriers! You definitely need one!!!
ReplyDeleteI just "awwwed" out loud!
ReplyDeleteOh these dogs are sooo cute! I would love to have one too. My parents wouldn't be too thrilled though - haha.
ReplyDeleteYou do not need an intervention, I feel the same way! I've been wanting one forever and finally my husband has agreed that will get one in the next year (we are expecting a baby so he is worried it may get a bit hectic).
ReplyDeleteSo sweet.

They really are awfully adorable...yeah, I'm not really an animal person in general (I have bad allergies), but my hubby really wanted a dog, to which I staunchly refused. Then he found out that mini schnauzers are "hypo-allergenic" dogs and don't usually make people allergic. Still a "no". Then the crafty little S.O.B. suggested we just go look at some mini schnauzer puppies, y'know just for fun. We came home with a dog. It was a dirty, dirty trick he pulled, those are like the cutest puppies on the planet. Good luck with your doggy endeavors...
ReplyDeleteAn intervention is a terrible idea.... just say yes!
